This is a bait & switch, you will receive a knockoff

0 1/5 H.W (USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dirt Devil Type F1 HEPA Vacuum Filter, 3JC0280000 (Housewares) The title claims that this filter is "by Dirt Devil." The picture shows a filter by Dirt Devil (green label & writing on top). But what was shipped was a knockoff by Crucial Vacuum. It does fit and works reasonably well, but it is not what was advertised. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 19, 2009

    false advertising

0 1/5 Frugal Shopper (Georgia) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dirt Devil Type F1 HEPA Vacuum Filter, 3JC0280000 (Housewares) I don't understand why this product gets such high reviews. The part I received was not a Dirt Devil product but a knock off. I would have kept it but the part does not work. The inlet diameter of the filter that I received is bigger than the correct part. The first time I used it, it unseated from the inlet mount. Now I question if the filter material may also be a cheap knock off. Be forewarned, even though the item title say "by Dirt Devil", it most certainly is not. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 16, 2012

False advertising, shocked amazon allows it!

0 1/5 C3Troop - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dirt Devil Type F1 HEPA Vacuum Filter, 3JC0280000 (Housewares) This filter says it is dirt devil, but it is not. I got it and put it on my dirt devil featherlite and it did not even fit. I immediately returned it. I may have been able to rig it to work, but since it was advertised as an official dirt devil filter, I refuse to keep it just out of principal. Know that you are getting a cheap knock off if you buy this filter! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 4, 2011

Little sucker could suck a golfball thru a garden hose

This little sucker is unbelievable. The power is fantastic, the torque from the motor actually makes the vacuum jump in your hand when you flip the on switch.I have a couch in my basement that is the favorite place for my two cats to sleep. The couch had so much hair on it that the couch looked grey instead of purple. I spent 5 minutes with the pet hair eraser and the couch was literally hair free. The rubber attachment on the front works way better than motorized brushes that quickly clog with hair. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is a little loud, but I guess with power comes a little extra noise. I love this little vac, why pay all that money for a Dyson when this little guy works great!Edit: The one and only thing I don't like about the vac is the way the air coming out of the unit sometimes blows the hair into the air if you're not careful how you position the machine while you use it. Although considering how much air this... 5/5 Erick Van De Burg "F'ing pissed" (Holland, MI United States) - See all my reviews, November 20, 2008

0 5/5 Mortisha (Virginia) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Handheld Vacuum, Corded, 33A1 (Kitchen) I was shocked at how well this thing works. I used my upright vacuum on my stairs first then went over them again with the the Bissell and could not believe how much dog and cat hair it got up so I moved to my sofa which has always been hard to get the hair off and it worked like a charm. It has alot of power for such a small vacuum. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 17, 2008

    This Bag Versus "Microfresh" Bags

0 3/5 ReviewBag - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dirt Devil Type U Vacuum Bags (10-Pack), 3920048001 (Kitchen) When I first got my Dirt Devil Vacuum I ordered these bags by mistake instead of the "Microfresh" Dirt Devil Bags. These bags are cheaper than the "Microfresh" bags but they are more porous and do not contain small particles as well. For most people its probably worth the extra money to buy the "Microfresh" bags. These bags would be good to use if you just got new carpet and want some cheap bags to pick up all the shedding of fibers. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 12, 2011

    Awesome!

Is it too much to ask for a vacuum to pick up stray pieces of paper, not to spit dirt out the back, and be light? This one fits the bill. I owned a dirt devil featherlite 9 years ago but after my husband touched it after 8 years, it didn't suck much anymore. Up till then it worked great. So I bought a vacuum that cost triple this vacuum thinking more expensive so it should be a wonderful vacuum. NOT! It didn't work well at all. Wouldn't pick up papers and kept shredding paper over the carpet, wouldn't suck it up. It also kept spitting dirt out the back on hard floors, or at least every direction except up the canister. I had a herniated disc for 10 months, every time I used the expensive vacuum, it was so heavy and bulky it kept throwing my back out more and kept me down for a week in pain. I was so happy to see kohl's had the new improved version of my old featherlite. It works as good if not better than the last one I had. It sucks really well. I have fun watching the dirt starting... 5/5 Jen (Ohio) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Featherlite Ultra Compact Bagless Upright Vacuum, UD40285 (Kitchen) Is it too much to ask for a vacuum to pick up stray pieces of paper, not to spit dirt out the back, and be light? Well worth the money! Best in price range!

OK, first off one of the top reviews says it takes 13 steps to empty. Mine doesn't, it takes TWO! One push the button on top to release the cansiter, two press the button on the side of the canister to open the bottom (over your trash can of course :P). I added pictures illustrating these buttons, plus a picture of all of the dirt! Also, do not expect Dyson fit and finish out of this vacuum. Its in a COMPLETELY different price category. That being said, what it excels at it is being the best vacuum cleaner I have used short of a Dyson. I'll list the pros and cons of this vacuum now; then since the devil (sorry for the pun) is in the details I'll expound on them a bit afterwards.Pros:Suction! Terrific Performer and Outstanding Value

Approximately three years ago, my $200 Eureka vac finally stopped working and I purchased the featherlite to replace it. At that time I lived in a 1,400 sf apartment. Now I live in a 2,500 sft home. For the past three years, this vacuum has served our family well. Pros:1. Inexpensive. $40 or less in most places.2. It picks up dirt, fuzz (and legos) as well or better than any other vacuum I've ever used. Really. Just change the bag when it gets full.3. Light weight. It's very easy to manuver and my younger kids can use it.4. Simplicity. This is a basic vac. It's easy to change the bag, wind the cord, and pull hair/crud out of the roller if necessary.5. It's got a bag. This is a personal preference, but every bagless upright I've ever used creates a small dust storm when you empty it. The bag system on this one works well.Cons:1. I don't expect it to go past 5 years. It's clearly designed for low cost and... 5/5 GeekDaddy (New England USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagged Upright Vacuum, M085590RED (Kitchen) Approximately three years ago, my $200 Eureka vac finally stopped working and I purchased the featherlite to replace it. works fine after a year

0 4/5 R. Wys "R. Wys" (MN, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagged Upright Vacuum, M085590RED (Kitchen) I was suprised to see that some of the other reviews portray this vacuum as useless. I bought mine from Target a year ago and it works wonderfully. Only complaints is that it's still pretty 'clunky' to carry around and that when you want to use the attachments it's hard to get the hose out. I've gone through a Shark brand vacuum that broke after 2 uses and an Orek XL that ate it's own cord but couldn't pick up Cheerios that my daughter spilled. I've had bad luck with vacuums but this one is doing just fine after 200+ uses.Feb. 2013: I just upgraded to a Bissel Trilogy Pet but my Dirt Devil still works wonderfully! Do not buy the canister version of this vacuum though! I've never had to replace the belt on it yet and I did replace the hose two months ago because my husband broke it where it attached to the base but it was a cheap fix. I still say this product is worth purchasing. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 19, 2008

Can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch but breaks

UPDATE After about 5 Months the part of the hose that connects to the motor ( see my pic) has had a piece break off that locks on the little peg; and now the end of the hose has a vertical crack in it where the attachments would connect. My concern all along after assembling this was the durability factor.I have a rainbow canister that I have decided to retire do the intensive assembly required for its operation. You have to fill the tank with water then place it it's caddy, place the motor on top of tank and then attach the hose from the power head to the motor. Then do the reverse to empty the water from the tank. So I decided to get an upright that you can just plug in and go.I'm not sold yet on the bag less uprights so I decided to go with the old tried and true one's with a bag.
