    Excellent When Used AS INTENDED

I have five cats. This means a lot of cat litter, cat food, and cat hair on the vinyl floor in my utility room. The Swiffer Sweeper Vac is perfect for quickly and easily picking up all of the above. It is light-weight, and does not scratch the floors. No dust pan and brush needed. The flexible sweeping head swivels easily to reach into corners and under cabinets with no problem.Important to keep in mind:In the user manual that comes with the product, it states you MUST charge the battery for a full 24 hours before first use.It states the vac will run for about 10 - 12 minutes on one charge, then need to be charged for 16 hours. It states the Sweeper&Vac operates best if used until fully discharged before charging again. It is intended for dry pick up only, not liquids. The dirt container is small. I just checked, and one 8-oz measuring cup of dry cat litter more than fills it. I'd say 4 - 6 oz is more like... 5/5 zen118 (Akron, OH USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) loved it initially. now...not so much

i thought this was going to be the perfect solution for the daily dust that accumulates on my hardwood floors. initially, i was impressed. the swiffer seemed to pick up a lot of the dust. however, i was bothered by the plastic "vacuum" part, as it sometimes can scratch the floor if you're not careful. as another member wrote, it would have helpful if they would have put some rubber or something over the plastic vacuum part.as the months passed, i found that the vacuum didn't seem to pick up as much as it used to. i do clean the filter regularly (which is a dusty mess each time you do it), so i don't know what's going on. frankly, the vacuum just isn't strong enough for what i need it to do anymore. i've reverted back to my regular "super-strength" vacuum to get the job done.pros:* lightweight* easy to use* works great for very light jobs* small and easy to storecons:* vacuum not as strong... 2/5 E. I would give it zero stars if I could - Useless piece of junk-BUYER BEWARE !

The concept of the Swiffer Sweeper Vac is excellent, but I found this vac to be very disappointing. I followed the directions to a T and still having serious battery issues. The Vac does not hold a charge and runs out of power way too soon. Even when it held a charge longer, it never really had much suction and is only good for picking up lightweight dust, pet hair, small particles. It worked better the first month or so I had it but swiftly declined (pun intended!) Why make this item cordless to begin with? I would love it if it simply had a long cord which I could just plug in to use. Must have been designed by some high-paid CEO who has a maid and never has to use one and has some false notion that cordless is better than plug in. If you are fortunate to have one which actually works correctly, a word of caution, be careful because the hard plastic hood which is the part that has the suction, will scratch your hardwood floor. I wish I had paid attention to all the bad reviews... 1/5 Music mamma (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews This review is from: Swiffer Sweepervac Rechargeable Cordless Vacuum Starter Kit, 1 Kit (Health and Beauty) The concept of the Swiffer Sweeper Vac is excellent, but I found this vac to be very disappointing. generic vs brand name

0 4/5 bushel - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dirt Devil Type F Vacuum Cleaner Bags (10-Pack) (Kitchen) Be aware: Even though they're advertised as "Dirt Devil Type F, by Dirt Devil", they're not. They're generic and I was sent 3 packs of 3. 9, not 10 bags. I complained to KillDirt, and after a few emails and a month went by, they finally sent genuine Dirt Devil bags. To their credit, KillDirt sent extra to make up for the delay. Maybe now they're shipping genuine DD bags--I noticed the price went up a bit. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 29, 2010

    Best Product for the Price

This may quite possibly be my first review on Amazon. First of all, why five stars? After all, Nothing is perfect. Whiskers is certainly far from perfect. However, a rating is not a pie in the sky calculation-- it is an assessment of how good a product is compared to the rest of the market at that time and in light of its current price. Five stars: because we purchased Whiskers for about $70, and we can't imagine another robot vacuum that comes close to providing as much bang for the buck. Are the $300 vacuums three or four times as good? We highly doubt it. A $300 vacuum robot will probably only provide a marginally better user experience. Yes, we have no frame of reference, but, all we know is that with each use the vacuum collects a very respectable amount of dust in its collection recepticle; that it is easy to use, and that its drawbacks are limited. Also, it may well be the cutest of the bunch. We got Whiskers without the dusting sheets. We live... 5/5 A. Reinheimer - See all my reviews, March 5, 2013

    Should Have Way Better Programming

I've had this for a couple of days and I already see a big design flaw. The pros are that it definitely picks up hair, small crumbs and dust very well from my wood flooring. It reduces the frequency of my vacuuming and cleaning. It's not that noisy and kind of interesting to watch as it works. The filter and dust cup are easy to clean. The whiskers design is a smart idea and makes for a broad cleaning path. It stops and beeps periodically when it runs out of juice. On the OK side: The battery life so far has been around 50 minutes on an overnight charge. A 4hr charge, which the system has a timer for, gives you around 35 to 40 minutes which definitely is not long enough for my 18' by 24' area.On the cons: It can get hung up by speaker wires and power cords. It sometimes goes onto floor mats, sometimes it bounces off them, and sometimes gets stuck on their edges. It gets stuck among the legs of the chairs around my kitchen table so I have to spread the... 3/5 Pluke (San Diego) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Whiskers SV Robotic Vacuum (Misc.) Works well, but the Lithium-Ion version of this Dustbuster is better

I borrowed this Dustbuster in order to compare it to the that I recently purchased, which is the exact same except for the type of battery it uses. This Dustbuster uses a Nickel-cadmium (NiCad) battery, compared to a Lithium Ion (LIB) battery in the other version. I put them through the same testing and evaluated them on how well the products work as a handheld vacuum, and then how the two compared to each other. As vacuums, they both performed surprisingly well compared to handheld vacs from 5+ years ago, which I have always hated due to poor battery life and weak suction power. The main problem with older vacs, is that they suffer from "memory effect," which causes products that use NiCad batteries to lose power and charge over time. This is very prevalent with Dustbusters,... 4/5 Scott - See all my reviews, April 20, 2012

    Dust Buster 14.4

I've had 2 Dust Busters for over 20 years. One in my kitchen and one in the bar down stairs. 20 years old and they worked fine. I got used to them running down for 20 seconds and then moving up to speed. Always liked the product. Then about a week ago I visited my daughter and she had a new one. The Dust Buster 14.4 with Cyclonic Action. Wow...it seriously sucked! Could not wait to order one from my friend Amazon. (I love this site) (and no, I don't work for them)! Ordered one and WOW, what a great product. I followed the instructions and charged it up for 24 hours then I used it until the battery died then charged it up again. I love this thing! Its extremely powerful, the long crevice tool has a brush on the end AND it extends about a foot longer if you want. First of all I went and cleaned the ceiling fan in our bedroom. Worked awesome without dragging out the big Vac. Great product and empty's easily. I'm buying another one for my boat where we are always leaving crumbs from toast... 5/5 Ramon V.
